It's easy to overlook your eyesight sometimes (no pun intended), but even if your vision is perfect you should still consult with an eye doctor on a regular basis. At Main Street Vision, our Longmont optometry staff offers a variety of services to help you and your loved ones maintain optimal eye health at any age and with any background.
Our general recommendation is to see an eye doctor at least once every one to two years, or more frequently if you're older or have a current eye health problem.
Eye exams aren't scary! We use comprehensive and innovative tests and technology, provided in a relaxed environment, to assess your visual acuity, inner eye pressure, inner and outer eye anatomy, and other essential elements of vision and eye health. We'll also screen for, diagnose, and treat as indicated a variety of eye conditions, including:
- Age-related macular degeneration
- Refractive errors: astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness
- Dry eye syndrome
- Eye allergy
- Diabetic retinopathy
In addition to adults and seniors, we also provide pediatric eye exams. We can assess your child's eyesight during infancy, between the ages of 3 and 6, and then routinely as needed throughout school. These visits are important, since a child's eyesight can change rapidly and many common childhood vision problems (e.g., amblyopia and strabismus) are detectable before symptoms show up. Identifying underlying problems can also help your child avoid vision-related athletic and academic issues later on.
Eyeglasses & Frames
Main Street Vision has the largest selection of displayed frames in Longmont! If you have a vision problem like nearsightedness (myopia) or farsightedness (hyperopia), we will give you the perfect prescription to see your best. We'll take the time necessary to ensure you have the right prescription for you, and can fit you with that perfect pair of frames that match your lifestyle, personality, and fashion sense! We also have a huge array of sunglasses including many of the popular brands like Rayban and Smith.
Contact Lens Exams
Many people prefer wearing contact lenses over eyeglasses, but these aren't a "one size fits all" tool. Our eye doctors will thoroughly assess your eye surface and health to help select the right style of contact lenses for you, including hard-to-fit lenses like scleral lenses and rigid-gas permeable lenses. We do SPECIALTY fitting of Scleral lenses, Corneal Refractive Therapy Lenses = Sleep in them at night and don't wear glasses during the day! We fit ALL brands of contacts! Additionally, if you decide to get LASIK eye surgery to correct a refractive error, our Longmont optometrist can provide the necessary pre- and post-operative care to optimize your outcomes.
